The Beam Switcher is a convenient accessory which allows for dual use of LED light sources.

It can be used in two different ways:

1. It can be installed on a microscope and used to instantly switch between microscope illumination and illumination of specimen via a fiber optic probe.
2. It can be used to instantly switch between two single-wavelength LEDs at a fluorescence microscope.

The Beam switcher is especially useful for in vitro approaches such as Optogenetics with patch-clamp recording in brain slices. It saves cost and space, and allows maximum flexibility in experiment design.
