In-Line Filters and Prizmatix Fiber Coupled LEDs

A customer just ask me about an in-line filter holder for the fiber coupled Prizmatix Silver-LED. He had a model chosen from another vendor. I offered him two possible alternatives.
Option One – Save Money
Make an in-line filter with two Prizmatix fiber coupling adapters back to back with a short SM1 tube and an internal thread between them to hold a 1 inch filter. Cost ~$580.
Option Two – Save Money, Higher Power
Use a Mic-LED instead. Install a short SM1 Tube between the LED and the fiber coupling adapter. As an added plus, you have the flexibility of using the source as collimated LED by removing the fiber coupler, or expanding to multi-wavelength source using our beam combiner modules.
